Beginner Snake: We recently received a comment from who thought we should have information
on what a good beginner snake would be for a child who had a strong interest in them. Our recomendation would be the
corn snake. They are relatively cheap outside a pet store; from a breeder some are available for under $50. They almost
always have an excellent feeding response eating an adult mouse every 7-10 days when an adult. They can also live their full
life in a 20-25 gal tank, reaching adult size of 4-5ft. The corn snake is easily handled but we would not recomend allowing
any small child to handle any snake without adult supervision.
